Following is a chronology of the annual Fluidsignal Group.
Five engineers from the city of Medellin knowledgeable of the issues of free market decide to propose a new option for professional services and support focused on the dissemination of such tools.
The result is an informal organization that provides support services and advice on free software with an employee Andres Roldan. The five engineers (partners) retained their jobs and they spent the night to give him time to his new venture.
They left two cores main Biaporá and Fluidsignal. The first extracted by the name of an ant and that meant the tenacity and willingness to work and the second (signal) that comes from the UNIX operating system (father of Linux).
The first customer delivery will support its data network, as it was with liquidity problems and had to go to the free tools to a decrease in their IT operating costs. At present has overcome its liquidity problems, but has not abandoned the free tools already provided to it by a high degree of reliability and continuity
Just tap during a few months until it decides the formalization of this merger. From this moment, the vision of company leads the organization to hire a company specializing in processes for defining an outline of work focused on strategies and issues the first document of strategic planning who also directs the organization's objectives towards the provision of consulting services in information security.
Then, they take a new approach which is important to define strategies and methodologies. Adopting international standards and adopting methods of execution for the issue of identification, analysis and treatment of risks around the technology.
Without losing its foundation working around the free tools, the company begins to gain recognition in the market on the topics of pure information security becoming a major reference around risk assessment by the evidence of intrusion and the theoretical issues of information security around the international standards that define the patterns and best practices for dealing with this issue.
Fluidsignal Group Inc. remains a work plan and training to be recognized in the medium as an organization on issues concerning risk around the technology, why is constantly working substantiation and certification of its personnel around the organization that bring together professionals from this court.
At the end of the year the company was invited by the Icontec to make the 181 committee dedicated to the certification of ISO 17799 to Colombia. They are months of work, lectures and definitions provided to the Colombian environment within the country formalization of ISO 27001.
For this time, the company already had a plant of 6 engineers and 3 people for administrative support, a manager and a charge of Marketing and Sales.
Earlier this year, adopting the PMI's PMBOK (Project Management Institute) as the outline of project management and is currently working to allow some of its engineers to obtain PMP certification granted by this institute.
A mid-year, it was decided that the company should be a pioneer in the areas of information security and the work is undertaken comprehensive certification standards around the iso 9001:2001 and ISO 27001:2005. This will become the first Colombian company certified with ISO 27001 for all your business processes.
During the year we establish partnerships with two companies of middle and working in service lines similar to ours. They are Choucair Testing, a company with which we define provide security assessment on applications by a synergy of methodologies that allows us to go together with the industry to offer this service which has become a necessity for companies engaged in software development within your organization.
The second company is Compuredes. Company high credibility in the medium with which we have decided to unite synergies in order to provide joint services for information security (from a central monitoring online services to implement management systems for information security). For this purpose we have developed a strategy of synergy with the presentation of events in the four major cities in Colombia.
In late August, will receive the visit of the certifying body (ICONTEC) and put it to our work in preparation for the certification and set after a week of work, the auditors announce that we have submitted our work to the committee certifier. This means that the October 30, 2006, we received from our Icontec quality seals to ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 27001:2005 more important in all our business processes. We have called "comprehensive system of management and information security." We have become the first company in Colombia to receive the ISO 27001:2005 certificate and the first company in Latin America certified in that standard by a certifying body of Latin American origin.
The projects in the short to medium term is to offer the market engineers certified PMP, CISA and CISM CISP. We are in force, we are aware of the changing world around us, and we are moving forward.
